Former Miss Cork Universe Anita O’Brien won her episode of ICA Bootcamp which aired last Thursday on RTE2. Anita, who hails from Glounthaune in Cork, has worked at many press calls in Dublin, became a household name in her native Cork and represented the city and county at Andrea Roche’s Miss Cork Universe final in Dublin in 2011, coming in the Top Ten of the countries best pageant beauties.

20 year old Anita is a 2nd year Commerce student at UCC and models parttime with the Lockdown Agency.
Anita recently joined Gerald Keane, Crystal Swing, Dave Mac and Peter Nielsen to prepare and serve food for St Vincent De Paul’s Penny Dinners charity as well as being an ambassador for many other charities in Cork the past 12 months.
Anita spent a week filming with the tough ladies of RTE 2′s ICA Bootcamp, during which she learned to birth lambs, bake bread and sew, winning the hearts of the otherwise stern ICA ladies to make it to the show’s final which airs next week.

The Miss Cork & Miss Cork 2012 final last week was the best final in Cork in the past decade with a host of Irish faces from the industry who visited Cork to help crown the cities next two busiest models for the coming year. Enjoy all the pictures here from the night.

6 Days to Miss Cork & Miss Cork Universe 2012!

In less than one week, two new girls will be crowned Miss Cork 2012 & Miss Cork Universe 2012. The winner of Miss Cork 2012 will represent the city and county at the prestigious Miss Ireland 2012 finals this summer in Dublin. And the winner of Miss Cork Universe 2012 will represent Cork at the Miss Universe Ireland finals this year, run by Andrea Roche. Both girls will instantly become the most recognisable & booked models in Cork.
The show kicks off at 8pm next Sunday night at the Rochestown Park Hotel. The night will be hosted by TV presenter & former Big Brother finalist Ray Shah alongside Emer O’Sullivan from Lockdown Models. Andrea Roche will visit to lead the judging panel and the night is sure to be one of the glitziest nights that the city has seen in a long while.

”Winning Miss Cork 2 years ago has definitely given me more confidence in myself, so for any girl entering the competition, it is a huge confidence booster in itself . It is great to be even involved in such a fun process, during my experience I met so many lovely girls & being a Miss Cork I got to meet & work with so many well known people & people in general its great fun.” Etaoin represented Cork at Miss Ireland two years ago and last year represented Whizzer Strips in Andrea Roche’s Miss Universe Ireland final.

”I will be looking for a girl with a beautiful personality, someone that can carry themselves well, who is able to represent themselves well – an all rounder really.” We can’t wait for Sunday night, we hope all our beauties in the final are getting their beauty sleep! xo

Announcing our first new face of 2012, Michaela. The Slovakian born model has worked in Europe and has moved to Cork to better her English. At 180 cm tall we are all stocking up on platform heels to keep up with our new beauty. All the team are delighted to have her onboard & look forward to seeing Michaela’s face in Irish campaigns & shows this year! xo

Amanda Brunker opened proceedings for the popular bar’s official opening / 1st anniversary and guests enjoyed gorgeous food, stylish drinks and came away with great goodie bags. Entertainment on the night was by The Dreams and after such a super night, we are well and truly ready for a wonderful Christmas!

Cork’s premier social magazine ‘C Magazine’ hosted their inaugral Cork Fashion Awards at the Blue Haven Hotel, Kinsale last Friday night hosted by Amanda Brunker. Linda O’Sullivan from Lockdown Models scooped the Cork Model of the Year prize and we couldn’t be more proud of our hardworking Linda. Modelling with the agency for three years now, the 21 year old hails from Rochestown and is a Corporate Finance masters student in UCC. Linda was lead model for Cork Fashion Week 2011 and is one of our client’s favourite girls due to her friendly, professional, can-do approach to bookings. Linda has given a huge amount of her personal time to various charity events & causes during her time at Lockdown and we wish her huge congratulations for her very deserving award. Thank you to C Magazine and the Blue Haven Hotel for a great night!
